Oleastro Olive Park combines 2 things: the production of organic olive oil with highly sophisticated modern equipment and a theme park dedicated to the olive tree and its gifts to mankind.

Oleastro Olive Park

In the production hall visitors can see the different stages of the process of making cold-pressed olive oil; removing the leaves, washing and crushing the olives and finally separating the stones and skins from the oil. The actual production takes place between mid-October and February.
In the museum is explained how this was done in the past, using big mill stones and wooden presses. There's a gift shop and a restaurant where traditional food is served. For the kids there is a playground and pony rides.
A trip to Oleastro is a very nice excursion and can be combined with a visit to the picturesque village of Anogyra or Omodos a bit further up into the mountains.
